“MUNDUR BELUM TENTU LEMAH”

Sesudah Iblis mengakhiri semua pencobaan itu, ia mundur dari pada-Nya dan menunggu waktu yang baik.

Untuk menghimpun tenaga  guna meluncurkan mata  panahnya, seorang pemanah harus menarik mundur  tali busurnya.  Demikian juga dengan  melempar lembing,  tangannya mesti dimundurkan  dulu  baru  melempar. Orang yang  memainkan ketapel  dan orang yang mau menembak, pelatuknya mesti mundur dulu. Demikian juga dengan tolak peluru dan lempar cakram, tangannya harus ke belakang dulu baru melempar. Jadi mundur  belum tentu lemah.

Ketika Daud menghadapi Goliat, selangkah  pun dia tidak kenal istilah mundur. Daud dengan gagah berani menghadapi Goliat dan tentara Filistin. Hasilnya, Goliat terkapar dan tentara Filistin menyerah. Tetapi, ketika Saul berusaha untuk membunuh Daud dengan melemparkan tombak  kepadanya, Daud si pembunuh Goliat yang lebih besar dari Saul  mundur. Daud  tidak bersedia  menghadapi Saul  karena  Saul  adalah  raja yang  diurapi oleh  Tuhan. Mengapa Daud  mundur?  Karena  Daud  harus  menunggu waktu yang tepat dari Allah untuk maju. Dalam pertempuran pun, Daud kadang maju, dan kadang  mundur. Tergantung Tuhan mengarahkannya kemana.

Memang  ketika kita mundur  sejenak,  perasaan gagal,  malu ataupun gelisah bisa menjadi hantu  yang melemahkan kita. Tetapi kalau kita memandang kepada  Tuhan,  dan mendengar suara-Nya seperti Daud, tentu perasaan itu tidak ada. Kita akan lebih bersuka- cita mundur  ketimbang  maju tanpa  kekuatan  dari Tuhan.  Mundur bisa berarti kita sedang diisi oleh Tuhan kekuatan yang dahsyat untuk mengerjakan pekerjaan  yang spektakuler.
